We were engaged by a commercial property owner in Townsville to carry out a full concrete demolition and earthworks package on a mid-sized industrial site. The scope covered concrete saw cutting, jackhammer removal, foundation trench excavation and a complete concrete works program — all completed on schedule and within budget.
The site presented a classic North Queensland challenge: thick reinforced concrete slabs over compacted fill, with live services running beneath that had to be protected throughout.
Before any heavy work began, our crew conducted a full site assessment and service location — mapping every underground utility and setting exclusion zones before the first cut. The saw cutting team scored precise lines with diamond-blade flat saws; jackhammer crews then broke the isolated sections into rubble, which was loaded out and removed. With the slab cleared, the building trench was excavated to engineer-specified depth, the walls stripped back and prepared for the next trade. The finished site was left clean, compacted and ready for construction.
